Broadening Opportunities Worldwide
We’ve brought our heritage of quality education to new markets across the globe. Kaplan first expanded beyond the United States in 1993 with a test prep center in London. Today, our international operations also include higher education, professional training, and language instruction in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
In 2006, Kaplan continued its international expansion with two major acquisitions. In May, we purchased Tribeca Learning in Australia, a provider of financial planning, brokerage, accounting, and real estate training that served more than 70,000 students last year. In October, we acquired Aspect Education, a major provider of English language instruction with schools in the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the U.S. Aspect had more than 25,000 students in 2006.
Throughout Europe and Asia, Kaplan offers professional training and higher education services. We are a leading provider of accounting and financial services training with 23 locations in the U.K. plus operations in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.
At Dublin Business School in Ireland and Holborn College in the U.K., we offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs in areas including liberal arts, business, and law. We also collaborate with U.K. universities through Kaplan International Colleges, offering international students academic and language programs that prepare them for admission to those universities. In Singapore and Hong Kong at APMI Kaplan (Asia Pacific Management Institute), we provide undergraduate and postgraduate education through affiliations with universities in Australia, the U.K., Ireland, and the U.S.
Today, Kaplan’s test preparation services can be found in 19 countries. We also operate Kidum, the leading test prep provider in Israel. Through a partnership with New Channel International Education, we provide English language training and test prep to students seeking to take required Chinese university language exams.
